Dyfed-Powys Police have stated that ‘preparations are being made’ for a planned protest outside a location in the Ferry Lane area of Pembroke Dock, following a two-day operation where hundreds of animals were rescued following concerns for their welfare.
Pembrokeshire County Council’s Animal Health and Welfare Team, along with police officers, teamed up with the Animal and Plant Health Agency, private veterinary practices, Dogs Trust, RSPCA Cymru, World Horse Welfare and others, to rescue in total, 53 pigs, 80 sheep, three goats, 58 dogs, 20 horses and one donkey, from site last month.
After residents in Pembroke and Pembroke Dock expressed concerns on social media that animals may still be on the site, a protest has been planned for 4 pm today (Friday) meeting opposite the new Harri Tudor school (subject to change).
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police are aware of mention on social media in relation to a possible protest.
“Preparations are being made accordingly, and we would welcome the opportunity to engage with anyone involved in organising such activity,” they added.
