A Milford Haven man found with heroin inside his mobile phone cover has been fined in court.
Forty-one-year-old Ivan Hoadley, of Wentworth Close, Hubberston, admitted a charge of possessing a class A drug when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court last week.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that at 12.40 pm on October 8, police searched the defendant on the side of a road in Milford Haven where they found drugs in the cover of a mobile phone.
The court heard that Mr. Hoadley had previously served a four-year prison sentence for intent to supply heroin.
Defence solicitor Jonathan Webb told the court that this was a relatively small matter as his client had been drug free since 2017.
He explained that Mr. Hoadley had undergone a relapse as his son had a serious medical problem.
However, Mr. Webb said the defendant’s arrest had concentrated his mind and allowed him to focus on other things.
He added that Mr. Hoadley wanted to put the matter behind him and that his relapse was a blip.
Magistrates fined the defendant £120 and ordered him to pay £85 in prosecution costs along with a £32 victim surcharge.
A destruction order was also made for the drugs.
