The death of a woman whose body was found on the A477 road on Sunday night is not being treated as suspicious police have stated.

Police were called to a report of a female lying in the road near Stepaside, with the road between Red Roses and Kilgetty closed in both directions for several hours.

“Dyfed-Powys Police was called at 10 pm on Sunday (November 24), to a report of a female lying in the road on the A477 westbound near Stepaside,” said a spokesperson for the police.

“Sadly the female was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin are aware. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”

The road was closed with diversions in place until just before 2 am.
