A Milford man has been fined in court after admitting being in possession of a class C drugs.
Forty-three-year-old Ian Michael Power, of Larch Road, Mount Estate, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday to admit a charge of possessing 20 Diazepam tablets.
Prosecutor Abul Hussain told the court that police officers on duty in the Milford area on September 3 of last year, approached Mr. Power at Romilly Crescent in relation to a separate matter.
“He was leaning by a fence at the time and when the area was searched a small money bag was found containing the tablets. Mr. Power admitted that they were his to officers,” he said.
The court heard that the defendant had many previous convictions to his name mainly for shoplifting, and owed over £1,000 in fines outstanding to the court.
Magistrates fined Mr. Power £40 for the offence and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge. A forfeiture and destruction order was also passed for the drugs.
