Tenby’s inshore lifeboat was requested to launch just after 6 pm on Wednesday (August 25), following a report of a person having collapsed after exiting the sea at Presipe Bay near Manorbier.

The volunteer crew made best speed to the beach and upon arrival, crew members went ashore and began casualty care, assisted by Coastguards.

Once stabilised the casualty was transferred into the ILB and transported to Manorbier beach where Tenby/Saundersfoot Community First Responders and officers from St Govans coastguard team met the team prior to te arrival of paramedics arrival.

The casualty was then transported to hospital via land ambulance for further treatment.

Tenby’s coastguards received a second request for assistance came as the team were leaving the station from the previous incident, when Dyfed-Powys Police requested they along with HM Coastguard Llansteffan assist with a search for a missing person in the Saundersfoot area.

As Tenby’s coastguards arrived at the rendezvous point, updated information was received that the missing person had been found safe and well by police.
