A Milford Haven man has been fined after he failed to comply with the requirements of a community order.
Twenty-year-old, Harry Holmes-Thompson of Coombs Drive, Milford Haven appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Monday to plead guilty to the charge.
Mr. Holmes-Thompson was brought before the court after he failed to attend unpaid work on July 19 and September 8.
The defendant also failed to give acceptable evidence to explain why he missed his scheduled appointments.
Magistrates heard from probation officer, Julie Norman who said the Mr. Holmes-Thompson had been given the original order after he was convicted for four counts of criminal defence.
Ms. Norman also told the court that the defendant had also failed to attend an appointment on October 6.
Jonathan Webb, defending said that his client had not been involved in any further criminal behaviour.
Mr. Webb then mentioned how he had read the riot act to his client as he said Mr. Holmes-Thompson ‘was not well versed with regards how to proceedings work.’
He also said his client needed to understand that if he was unable to attend an appointment, then he must contact the probation service.
On sentencing the defendant, the chairman of the bench, said: “Bringing a breach back to court is a serious matter.
“It’s in your interest and the ball is in your court.”
Magistrates fined the defendant £200 for the offence.
