A Milford man has been fined for drugs possession after cannabis was found in a chest of drawers in his bedroom.

Thirty-six-year-old Gerald Brummitt, of Elm Lane, Mount Estate, pleaded guilty to possessing 3.4 grammes of the drug when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that police attended the defendant’s address in relation to a separate matter, and when there found a wallet containing the cannabis.

Defence solicitor Mark Layton said that his client had an underlying health problem, with damage to his muscles and spine, and used cannabis to help combat the pain.

Magistrates fined Mr. Brummitt £80 for the offence and ordered him to pay costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

They also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
