Velothon Wales 2018 - Starting in Cardiff, the Velothon gave cycling enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the thrill of safe closed road cycling, whilst taking in some of Wales’ most breathtaking scenery. There’s something for every level of ability or ambition, with a carnival atmosphere along the route as the Welsh communities who come out in force to support help deliver a truly special atmosphere that inspires you to the finish. Our cyclists rode the 140km route with spectacular scenery and challenging climbs of the Tumble and Caerphilly Mountain riding to an elevation of 1,798m: Pat Swann 4hr 20, Tom Beck 4hr 30, John Hubbard, Gareth Huw Rees Julie Andrasko Daniel Belli and Colin Barrett all 4hr 51 Claire Ford Peter Williams Claire Louise Thomas 6hrs 1 and Jessie Davies 6hrs 13.
Monster Triathlon - Very well done to Emma Richards who last week completed a mind blowing triathlon over seven days! Day one started with a three-metre mile swim in Loch Lomond. Day two cycling 101 miles from Fort William to Glasgow. Day three cycling 103 miles from Glasgow to Carlisle. Day four cycling 126 miles from Carlisle to Haydock. Day five cycling 123 miles from Haydock to Kidderminster. Day six cycling 118 miles from Kidderminster to Windsor. Day seven an ultra marathon of 36 miles from Windsor to Richmond. These seven days were meticulously planned with a full support team in attendance. Anyone fancy this for next year!

Tuesday, July 17, Route 9: (Bluestone) Tenby, New Hedges, Devonshire Drive, Heatherton, turn right after Heatherton, Jeffreyston, Reynalton, Canaston, Bluestone Roundabout, Canaston, Loveston, Jeffreyston, Broadmoor, Templebar Road, Pentlepoir, Tenby (approximately 26 miles). Sweepers John Hubbard and Tom Beck.
Thursday, July 19, Route 70: (Lawrenny and Templeton): TLC, Gumfreston, Carew, Whitehill, Cresswell Quay, Lawrenny, Martletwy, Molleston, Templeton, Begelley, New Hedges and back to TLC (approximately 27 miles). Sweepers Huw Benbow and Paul Slack.
All rides will leave Tenby Leisure Centre car park at 6 pm.
We have three groups - with a sweeper-led social group with the intent that no-one gets left behind and all get a ride to suit their abilities. Helmets to be worn on all club rides, front and back lights advisable.
