Pembrokeshire College students, the Rocky Racers won the annual Valero Pembroke Refinery boccia competition held at Milford Haven Leisure Centre recently.

The youngsters beat Portfield Pirates in the first semi-final to face Crymych Panthers in the decider after they beat St. Davids’ Care B earlier in the day.

There was tension throughout the final with neither side able to build a commanding lead over the other.

Eventually, the Racers pulled clear to win by four points to three.

Sport Pembrokeshire - the sports development team at Pembrokeshire County Council organised the nine team event, with Pembrokeshire College students Nicole, Kylie, Lleucu, Bethan, Nick and Chezney officiating.

All four attended a boccia leaders’ course and it’s hoped some of the students will progress with the sport and assist the college and local club Crymych Panthers.
