Local professional triathlete Olly Simon has been busy lately with a win at Swansea sprint triathlon, eighth at Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire, a win at the Titan Brecon Triathlon and will now finish off the month with Ironman Austria.
Said Olly: “I have had a busy month in June as there are so many races to choose from this time of year. I have got some good results and tried to recover in between races, mixing exposure at races for sponsors and rewards to keep me affording to race.
“Ironman Austria is up next and I have been helped out with funding from Steve at A. B. Rogers and Sons who has helped me before and will also be travelling with me to Klagenfurt to race.”
Ironman Austria is one of the fastest races on the circuit and has a great reputation for putting on one of the best Ironman races on the circuit.
Continued Olly: “I looked at this race early in the season and wanted to get a big race in before competing at the local Long Course Weekend. My goals for the race are to improve on my Welsh record of eight hours 34 minutes and that should get me in to the top 10.
“I am very grateful to A. B. Rogers and Sons for supporting my travel and will try to make the most of the experience.”
