LADIES SECTION

I am pleased to report that South Pembs Golf Club held a very successful Ladies Open Day on June 22 which was part of the club’s Open Week.

The weather was fine and thanks to the green staff, led by Percy and Barry, and also club members pitching in, the course was in excellent condition. Thanks also go to the ladies’ committee, catering and bar staff for contributing to an enjoyable day.

I would also like to thank Keith Rees, starter, Jack Davies and Keith Leverton on the desk and Ian Harries and Chris Wright, who acted as spotters, greatly needed on the fifth. Now to the results.

First in Division One with 36 pts was Awen Thomas, Derllys Court, second Mary Mountney, South Pembs., 36, and third Daphne Jones, Derllys Court, 33.

Division Two winner was Patribha Kanse, Haverfordwest, 38 pts., second Julie Llama, Trefloyne, 36, and third Andrea Dudden, Haverfordwest, 35.

Three ladies had twos, Judith Stevens, Derllys Court, Daphne Jones, also Derllys Court, and Andrea Dudden, Haverfordwest.

Nearest the pin on the third was Enid de Wolf, Milford Haven, and on the 14th it was Julie Tordoff, Tenby.

The best South Pembs Salver went to Mary Mountney. Well done to all the winners.

A couple of dates to put in your diary. We are holding a Strawberry tea 2 pm on Tuesday, July 5, and also the Lady Captain’s Charity Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society will be held on Saturday, September 17.
