A pleasant spring day saw the New Minerton Golf Society playing their first game at Milford Haven, with a warm welcome from all staff and catering staff in the club.

With a quick briefing about lost balls and to ‘beware of nesting birdies’, it was time to tee-off the first ball of the season.

First up was Steve J, with a fine drive down the fairway to kickstart the game.

Christine Morgan was unable to attend, leaving husband Paul to navigate the buggy alone with some struggle; luckily we had Stuart stepping in to the rescue.

Our team mascot was also unable to attend, as he haad travelled to support his home team (Scarletts v Leinster in Ireland).

We would like to show our thanks and appreciation to the greenkeeper for the high standards and pride that is taken in maintaining the golf course and a big thank you to the club for having us visit to play.

The results for the day were as follows:

In first place was Rob, coming in second was Colin, with third place being taken by Dennis - well done all.

Longest drive was taken by Nick Hendy and nearest the pin was Steve Courtney.

We are now all looking forward to our next game which will be played on May 5.
