It will be a busy few days on the links this weekend.

Today (Friday), the Chicken Trotters return to action after their festive break when, weather permitting, they will be doing battle for the much sought-after Roger and Mary Trophy.

Forecast is for blustery showers, so if there are any, hopefully they will blow through quickly.

Tomorrow (Saturday), meanwhile, is the always popular new year competition when players will be restricted to using only ‘three clubs and a putter’.

A mixed 14-hole stableford event, the entry sheet is almost full, with only a few places remaining available as we went to press yesterday.

Sunday heralds one of the major clashes of the year when the Rabbits take on the ‘Others who play on Sundays’ in their eagerly awaited annual contest. Can the Rabbits put their name on the shield for the third time in 30 years? Watch this space.
