Tenby under 15s hosted the Llanelli based Seaside FC at the Clicketts and this was to be not only a strong test but also the first for the lads up a year.
The home team (seasiders) started strong and they were certainly looking for nothing more than a victory.
Some lovely football was being witnessed and the excellent Joe Evans had his early effort saved by the visitors keeper, Charlie Gregory was making some of his powerful runs and soon he provided a beautifully weighted pass for for best of the left Archie Smith (both pictured) to drill the ball passed the keeper.
The rocker Dylan Morgan was causing havoc on the right as usual and he slotted a lovely for Archie but he was denied by the keeper.
The visitors were in no mood to just let Tenby have their own way and pushed hard with Rhys Mansell having a busy time it was time for the defence getting tested and Ned Davies made a crucial decision to cover behind the back line. Jake Allen was enjoying his day and pushed forward as did the engine Iori Humpries, however it was the visitors that took the next goal courtesy of a penalty which Rhys had little chance.
Top scorer from last year was Jack Jones who was having a good game but saw his efforts go amiss. Soon the homesters regained the lead and it came from the right with a fantastic run from Dylan to slip a great ball across for Archie to get his second. So on the half there was just one goal difference.
Second half and the game itself had seem some rotations but it was time to welcome new boy Michael Davies who doubles the St Florence based players and he settled down soon with a decent account of himself. Tenby then saw their lead furthered this time Archie turning provider for the top man Jack Jones to bag himself one.
This was no one way traffic though and the visitors were getting their tales up and soon it paid off with a lovely goal and soon after Rhys in the sticks was tested again but made a great save. A great match it continued to be and a corner fell to Tenby and Finnan Arthur swung it in, was it a cross or shot? Who cares it evaded everyone and flew in the right corner. However the visitors from Llanelli never gave up and they rewarded for their efforts with the last goal of the match.
So a decent start for the boys who look to improve on a fantastic double last year and get the west Wales Cup for the triple.
