Tenby got off to a flying start with a goal pretty much straight from the kick off and from there had the upper hand in the game and went on to win.
The overall play was outstanding, the passing, shooting and determination to get the ball back, but best of all was the team work, working together and playing for each other!
This week’s man of the match goes to Rhys Broadhurst with some great tackling.
Thanks go to Narberth for hosting the game and the team are looking forward to the return fixture.
Tenby Under 13s
Pressure was on for the U13s first ever fixture in the West Wales Cup. Drawn against Llangefelach at home, the boys had no idea what their opposition was like, so took to the field a little nervously.
Straight away the Tenby team applied the pressure, along with strong defence and accurate passing. And it wasn’t long before Morgan was able to create the first score. With the opposition a little shell-shocked by the Tenby pressure, Max took his chance and increased the score to 2-0.
The first half saw Tenby dominant, with the ball only in their half a handful of times, and more goals followed quickly with five more from Max, another from Morgan and one from Iori, to make the half-time score 10-0.
The second half was a different story. Llangefelach played more defensive football, which made it harder for the attack to create chances. It was a good while before Toby scored the 11th.
Not downbeat, the opposition tried to create their own attacking play, but the defence of George, Jack, Jack, TJ and Leon remained firm.
Two further goals in the half left the final score 13-0 to the home side. A superb win against a good Llangefelach team and a good solid team performance.
