UNDER 13s
It’s been a busy start to the new season with two games in two days for the Under 13s.
Now going to a full size pitch and bigger goals along with new squad members, the boys were keen to get the season underway.
First game was home to Merlins Bridge and it was great to see the new signings slotting in well, with the end result being a win of 10-0 to Tenby.
Monday saw Tenby home again to local rivals Kilgetty, who also have strengthened their team this year with new signings.
Tenby were slow off the mark despite many chances, the Kilgetty goalkeeper made some excellent saves, which kept the score at half-time at 2-0 to Tenby.
The second half saw much of the same, with the final score 6-0 to Tenby.
Two wins, so a good start to the season - keep the winning streak up!
UNDER 15s
The Seasiders started the new campaign away to Camrose FC. They looked the brighter from the off and soon it paid dividends, with Joe Evans providing a lovely ball to Jack Jones who duly obliged with a lovely finish.
Jack then put the work in to supply Will Malone for number two.
The homesters never gave up and where soon rewarded with a goal.
Will Malone tried to restore the difference with an excellent run, but a great save saw him denied.
Camrose still had the Tenby defence on the backfoot and soon it paid off with a penalty when Iori Humpries was adjudged to have fouled in the area and Rhys Mansell was beaten from the spot.
So with the half-time whistle approaching, the game was evenly poised, but last year’s goal machine was to have the last say here with a nice finish to recover the lead.
The second half and the Seasiders started very strongly, firstly with a great solo effort from Joe Evans, who tucked the ball away lovely, soon followed by Dylan (the rocket) Morgan (pictured), who was having an influence on the game and going down the right at pace he bagged himself a beautiful goal and soon Camrose defenders must of thought they were witnessing a repeat because his did it again for his second and Tenby’s sixth.
Camrose tried to get back in the game, but new lad Michael Davies and Callum Karaka were having none of it and kept closing down.
Six it was looking like until Archie Smith took on the Camrose defence down the lefthand side to provide Kurt Sarrionandia who slotted it past the ’keeper.
It nearly got to eight, but Charlie Phillips could only stand and watch as the the crossbar denied him. So all in all, a decent start against a strong Camrose outfit.
