Tenby AFC held its junior and mini presentation night recently at the De Valance Pavilion, the ninth year at the venue, and would like to thank the Tenby Town Council for allowing them to do so. Personal thanks to the Mayor Clr. Sue Lane, Clr. Chris Brown, Andrew Davies and the staff of the De Valance for all their help prior to and during the evening.

Luke Lawrence, chairman of Tenby AFC, was the MC for the evening and he opened the proceedings by firstly thanking Andrew Price, the club’s main sponsor, whose continued financial support over the years has helped make Tenby AFC the success it is today. He went on to thank all the individual team kit sponsors, the ground advertising board sponsors and the many business and individuals that have contributed to the club this year. He also thanked the Tenby Observer for allowing the club the space each week to report on every club match. The club greatly appreciates this help.

Luke commented that it has been another great season; the mini section is thriving with an abundance of eager, skillful players. The juniors have done remarkable well too, with three out of the five teams winning silverware.

The Under 13s won their cup final and were runners-up in their league, while the Under 14s and 15s won their respective leagues. The Under 16s reached their fourth cup final in five years but faced the formidable Hakin United and had to settle for runners-up, for the fourth time.

All this success is mainly due to the excellent coaching staff that the club has, which was responded with a loud round of applause. Obviously, they can’t do it without the commitment and dedication of all the players and the assistance and loyalty from the parents. Thank you all for making it a truly exceptional year once again.

Luke then had the pleasure of introducing Tenby Mayor, Clr. Sue Lane, and the first team goal scoring machine, Sam Christopher, who would both make the presentations. Firstly, the Mayor presented Tenby Town Council framed certificates to nine players who been selected for the Swansea City FC Development Squad.
