St. Florence Girls Under 12s played their first game of 2018 last weekend, when they travelled to Camrose.

The team comprised of Fiona (captain), Alex, Sienna, Laura, Imogen, Maddy and Ruby.

Camrose started the better of the two teams, taking the lead.

St. Florence were fielding a young team and they soon settled into the game, putting a lot of pressure on the Camrose goal, with two goals from Maddy and Imogen, to give them a 2-1 lead.

After a first half of shaking off the rust, the girls, having not played since December, started to play some neat football and were really starting to dominate the game, with Maddy scoring two more goals for her hat-trick.

Laura scored her first goal of the season, followed by two from Ruby, a goal from the captain, and another for Imogen.

When Camrose did break, they found good defensive work from Sienna and a solid performance from Alex in goal, who kept a clean sheet in the second half, to see St. Florence run out 9-1 winners.
