It was back to league action for the Pembrokeshire football teams as the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Amateur Football League took centre stage once again following a couple of weeks of cup activity.
Biggest shock of the day was Neyland’s 10-2 defeat at Clarbeston Road, but Angle didn’t fare much better on the road after they went down to a comprehensive 4-0 defeat at Goodwick United.
Carew made the short trip over the Ridgeway to play against Lamphey, with the game finishing 2-2.
In a scrappy game, neither side could really assert their authority, with Sam Southcott and Mikey Davies scoring for the hosts before Sam Christopher scored on his Rooks debut while Haydn Shapcott kept his cool to secure a draw with a last minute penalty.
The game between Monkton Swifts and Hakin United was postponed, while Pennar Robins’ trip to West Dragons ended in defeat after they lost an entertaining encounter 8-3.
Phil John scored twice for the Robins, with Jason Donahoe netting the other.
In division two, Hundleton went down to a 4-0 defeat at Hakin United seconds, while Kilgetty beat Johnston by the same scoreline to move into second place behind Hakin’s second team.
An own goal compounded Johnston’s misery yet Kilgetty’s delight was secured after goal from Richard Tebbit, Patrick McEwan and Ryan Rowlands.
Another game to fall foul of the weather was Lawrenny’s clash against Merlins Bridge seconds.
Better news for Saundersfoot Sports, however, as their trip to Letterston ended in a 4-0 win.
Chris Millward scored twice for the Seasiders, with the other goals coming from Jack Franklin and Kyle Marsh.
St. Clears had a good win too after they put paid to St. Ishmaels’ challenge.
They secured their third victory of the season, winning 5-3. Steve Thomas scored twice, with the other goals coming from Iestyn Scourfield, Nathan Evans and Josh Jones.
In division three, Carew seconds’ home game against Goodwick United was postponed, while Manorbier United went down 5-2 at home to Broad Haven.
Andrew Joseph and Ben Hall scored for the home team, but to no avail.
Pembroke Boro won away at Milford United seconds, winning 3-0 as a Jake Campbell brace and one from Mark Evans secured them the points, while there was a good win for Pennar Robins’ seconds, too, after they beat Clarbeston Road seconds 4-1.
St. Florence and Narberth seconds battled to a share of the spoils as their game ended 1-1.
Lewis Desforges scored for the Saints.
Joe Gouldingay scored eight (yes, eight) goals for St. Clears’ seconds in their one-way 12-1 win at Angle seconds.
Adam Barlow scored for the home team, but he (along with his team mates) spent most time defending as St. Clears went riot.
Steve Trivett netted twice for the visitors, with Martin Fulcher and Jamie Thomas scoring the others.
Elsewhere in the division, Kilgetty seconds’ game at Broad Haven seconds was postponed, while Lamphey seconds had a good win at Herbrandston seconds, winning 3-2.
Pennar Robins’ thirds lost 2-1 at Neyland seconds, while Monkton Swifts’ seconds’ game at St. Ishmaels was postponed.
There were more postponements in division five, with Carew thirds’ game against Lawrenny seconds falling foul.
Hundleton seconds made the short trip over to Pembroke Boro seconds to win 7-3, Jason Evans scoring twice and Steffan Sandford the other for the Boro, while two goals from Tyler Worrell was all Saundersfoot Sports seconds had to show after they entertained Cosheston, who won 5-2.
Nathan Farrier scored twice for Cosh, with the other goals coming from Jason Davies, Dalton Boswell and an own goal.
