It was quarter final day in the Senior Cup and despite a close game in what was the match of the day between Merlins Bridge and Hakin, the other matches went to form with both Carew and Monkton making it into the last four.
Monkton, many people’s choice of league winners this season enjoyed an easy passage into the semis with a 6-1 win over St Clears.
Ceri Phillips grabbed the Saints’ only goal while for Monkton, Ben Steele and Dylan Davies scored twice with the other goals coming from Blake James and Chris Richards.
Pennar are through too thanks to a 3-0 win over Saundersfoot Sports, Ben Adams, Luke Phillips and Sam Southcott grabbing their goals.
For Carew, they overcame an early scare at Solva when they went a goal behind but Jordan Richards showed his quality with a fine hat-trick while the other goals in their 7-1 win came from Iwan Izzard, Scott Fearney, Sean Whitfield and Lloyd Hughes.
In league action Narberth went down to Neyland 3-1 with the home team’s only goal coming from Brychan David.
The game between Kilgetty and Letterston was postponed in division two while goals from Jack Blunsden, Jack Richards and COnnor Hay secured a 3-2 win for Hundleton over Llangwm H’west CC.
In division three, Carew seconds enjoyed a good win over their counterparts from Narberth winning 3-0 with a brace from Adam Muskett and Corey Hill securing the points while Pennar Seconds won 4-0 at Clarbeston Road reserves.
St Florence went down 3-1 away at Fishguard Sports with their only goal coming from an own goal while at Marble Hall, Pendine secured a good away win thanks to a goal apiece from Jack Haley and Callum Siddell in their 2-0 victory.
Derby games are often close and so it proved at London Road as Pembroke Boro narrowly lost against Monkton Swifts’ seconds.
Stuart Slater and Phil John with two scored for the hosts while Monkton’s goals came from Jordan Kilby, Josh Sture and Ryan Boswell.
St Clears seconds won 4-0 at home against Solva Seconds with Andy McCabe scoring twice and the others coming from Craig Holland and Shaun Lynch while in division four, there was no game between Hundleton seconds and Cosheston as Hundleton were unable to field a side.
Kilgetty seconds’ game at Neyland seconds was postponed but there was better news for Pennar thirds however as they beat Llangwm / H’west CC 5-2 thanks to goals from Sonny Price (2) and a Jamie Groves Hat-trick.
Pembroke Boro seconds won 6-2 at St Ishmaels’ seconds.
Meanwhile in division five, Tenby beat Carew thirds 4-1 with Michael James Ryder scoring twice followed by goals from Dan Storer and Lewo Sandoro.
Paul Maytum scored for Carew.
Lawrenny seconds lost 3-0 at home to Johnston seconds while Monkton thirds had a good day at home to Milford Athletic seconds winning 11-0 with James Potter netting five, Tom Delmain scoring twice, Nico Morrison finishing with three with Cameron Brunton grabbing the other.
