In the first set of games of the new decade, teams from all over the Manderwood Pembrokeshire leagues were looking at a fresh start.

Narberth’s start to 2020 got off to the worst possible start as they were trounced at home by league leaders Monkton Swifts.

The away side won 7-0 to cement their place at the top of the Division One table and look on course to win the league.

St Clears also suffered a heavy defeat as they were thrashed 10-1 at Fishguard Sports.

Jamie Thomas scored the only goal for his side.

Saundersfoot Sports picked up where they left off as they started 2020 with another defeat.

The home side lost 3-2 against Carew with Euan Laidlaw and Paul Hodge scoring for Saundersfoot.

But a brace from Shaun Whitfield and Adam Muskett meant Carew left the South Pembrokeshire coast with all three points.

In Division Two, there were draws for both Lawrenny and Kilgetty.

Both teams picked up a point against Herbrandston and Hundleton, respectively.

Carew II’s 2020 got off to a miserable start as they were beaten by Camrose 4-1.

Sam Harts scored what turned out to be a consolation for the home side.

Pembroke Boro’s hopes of avoiding relegation to Division Four were boosted after they beat rock-bottom side Letterston.

A hat-trick from Jamie Aries and a goal from Joe Williamson helped their side to three valuable points.

There was also a win for Cosheston AFC as they won 2-1 away to Milford Athletic.

In Division Four, it was a comfortable day at the office for Tenby as they beat Narberth II 3-0.

Mike Ryder, Leo Sarrionandia and Harri Phillips were all on the scoresheet for the home side.

Elsewhere there was an incredible game between Neyland II and S.t Florence.

The away side won 8-6 in one of the games of the season which provided some great entertainment for the supporters of both clubs.

Sadly for St Clears II they lost another thrilling game at the weekend.

The home side went down 6-3 against top of the table Broad Haven II and look certain to be in the relegation scrap.

In Division Five, Angle beat Lawrenny II 3-1, while there was embarrassment for Pembroke Boro II after they lost 7-0 at home to Carew III.
