The second round of Manderwood Pembrokeshire AFL mid-week matches got underway on Monday evening, with Carew suffering at the hands of recently promoted Lamphey.

After stinging Tenby with a shock defeat during the first game, it was back to earth with a bump for the Rooks as the Stags seized control, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Anthony Webb and Billy Davies. Shaun Whitfield scored for Carew.

Monkton Swifts were involved in an eight-goal thriller at home against Hakin United, although despite goals from Ryan Griffiths, Tom Powell and Tom Meiring, they lost 5-3, while Tenby made amends for their opening day defeat with a 10-2 thrashing of Narberth.

The Seasiders made home advantage count as Sam and Jack Christopher both scored hat-tricks, while Nathan Patterson finished with a brace and the other goals coming from Jimmy Thomas and Jerome Mansbridge. Tony Evans and Chris O’Connell scored for Narberth.

In the derby between Pennar and Angle, the points went back west as Angle finished 4-0 winners thanks to goals from Connor Willis, Nick Willis, Josh Richards and Gavin Wickland.

In other games, Neyland beat Milford United, while Merlins Bridge hammered Johnston. The game between Goodwick United and West Dragons was postponed and has been rearranged for September 6.
