The opening games of the Manderwood Pembrokeshire League took place over the weekend with teams from most of the divisions getting their campaign underway.

In Division One, Carew started their season superbly with a 3-0 win over Clarbeston Road.

Joe Leahy and Fraser Findlay were among those who got on the scoresheet for the home side.

However, it was a poor start for Narberth as they were thrashed 7-2 by Merlins Bridge. Aidy Jones and Ryan Williams scored what turned out to be consolations in what was a disappointing performance for the visitors.

Saundersfoot Sports will be hoping for better things this season, after they lost 4-0 at home to newly-promoted Fishguard Sports.

In Division Two, Kilgetty picked up where they left off with a 3-1 win at Johnston.

Tom Mansbridge scored a Brace and Grant Jones scored for the team which finished third last season.

Lawrenny drew 0-0 away to Solva to get themselves off the mark.

Pembroke Boro lost 7-2 against Milford Athletic in Division three to make it a forgettable start to the season for the away side.

A Carew II own goal consigned the side to an open day defeat.

Carl Thomas scored a consolation as his side lost 2-1 away to Pendine.

Moving on to Division Four, promoted Tenby recorded a brilliant win as they smashed Solva II 19-0.

Jerome Mansbridge scored an incredible seven goals, Mike Ryder scored five and Billy Lawrence and Matthew Webb got braces.

Daryl Mansbridge, Jacob Hipkiss and Dan Storer completed the scoring for the home side.

Goals from Rhys Hughes and Dylan Hughes gave Narberth II a 2-0 win over Pennar Robins II.

Lastly in Division Five, Pembroke Boro lost at home 15-3 to Hundleton II. Phill John (2) and Owen Wallace scored for the Boro.

Lawrenny II lost 5-2 at home to Newport Tigers, while there were wins for Kilgetty II and Carew III.
