Good luck to Tenby’s Dylan Rees who will be part of the Cardiff Met FC team that take on Luxembourg side Progrès Niederkorn in the second league of their Uefa Europa League tie tonight (Thursday).
Dylan’s parents Nicky and Alex last week travelled to Luxembourg to support the Cardiff team - the first uni side ever to get into this prestigious competition.
Dylan and his team mates will be looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit at the Leckwith Stadium in Cardiff later, with the match kicking off at 6.30 pm, and being broadcast live on Sgorio’s Facebook channel.
Earlier this year Dylan made the starting line up to play for the Wales C team when they took on England’s C team at Salford’s Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday, March 19.
Following selection the team started with a four day training camp at Manchester Utd’s Carrington training facility and the game was held at Salford FC watched by Wales manager Ryan Giggs.
Dylan is currently in his second year with Cardiff Met studying for a degree in Sport and Physical Education.
“It is a very prestigious competition so it is all very exciting, and we would like to wish the team the best of luck,” said Dylan’s mum Alex, who will be flying the Welsh flag again tonight in support.
