With both sides missing a few key players the game may have been down on quality but it was certainly up in excitement as Pembroke crept ever closer to Kilgetty’s 163 all out before a flurry of wickets saw them all out for 128.
Kilgetty’s total was built around scores of 28 for skipper Ross Hardy, 27 for Ian Poole, Tom Lewis’ 23 and Johnnie Harries’ 20. He also kick-started Pembroke’s collapse with 4-24.
For Pembroke, Barry Evans had a great all round game taking 5-31 and scoring 42 not out.
Andrew Hay looked good for his 24 and Billy Wood scored 20.
Carew remain top following an easy 125 run win over Johnston. Batting first Carew raced to 232-6 thanks to Tim Hicks’ 79 and Nick Scourfield’s 76.
In reply, Johnston were all out for 107 despite Dan Sutton’s 38 as Tom Davies added to his 24 with 4-48 while Iori Hicks took 3-1.
At Lawrenny, the derby game went the way of visitors Cresselly after a solid six wicket win.
The hosts were skittled for 114 after Neal Gregory took 4-34 and Sam Harts 4-41 with Iwan Izzard hitting 36 not out in the reply and Scott Arthur 36.
For Lawrenny, Joe Kidney hit 51 and Rob Williams 28 as Jamie Lewis took 3-26.
Meanwhile, Whitland are in fourth place after a winning draw at home to St. Ishmaels who only just fell short in overhauling the Borderers’ 189 all out.
Will Spreadbury hit 71 for Whitland and Jonathan Thomas 47, while in reply Matthew Davies took 2-54 and Iestyn Scourfield 4-36 as Tish finished on 171-8.
In division two, Carew seconds suffered a crushing loss at home to Llechryd who hammered the Rooks by 87 runs.
Llechryd reached 153-8 with James Hinchcliffe taking 2-54 and Joel Read 2-21, but in reply the hosts were all out for just 66, Dai Rees top scoring with 29.
Narberth remain second after a four wicket win over visiting Saundersfoot.
The away team were all out for 109 as Ben Hughes took 3-11, Ben Quartermaine 4-35 and Owen Richards 2-35. John Mansbridge top scored for the Seasiders with 34 not out.
Aaron Keane then smashed a quickfire 60, Richie Adams 60 and Jordan Howell 21 not out to see Narberth home for the loss of six wickets as Tom Mansbridge took 3-38.
Stackpole remain rooted to the foot of the table after suffering their fifth loss of the campaign with defeat at Llangwm.
The Lillies managed 131 all out as Richard MacKay hit 34 and Rob Mathias 27.
James Adie then took 2-32 in Llangwm’s reply but the table-toppers eased home.
Whitland seconds climbed out the relegation zone after a nine wicket win at Llanrhian who replace them in the bottom two.
Llanrhian, playing in division one last year, scored 142-9 as Connor Bowen took 4-24 and James Bowen 2-20, but in reply Paul Oeppen’s 72 not out and Gethin Scourfield’s 39 not out saw Whitland over the line.
Peter McGilloway was on fire once again with the ball for Lamphey as his 5-9 haul saw the Stags defeat Johnston seconds by nine wickets.
The Tigers were dismissed for 82 and the hosts had no issues in passing the total thanks to Jake Griffiths’ 42 not out and Lewis Haines’ 40.
Cresselly seconds beat Lawrenny seconds by seven wickets after Lawrenny struck 120-8 thanks to Julian Arthur’s 33 and Hugh Griffiths’ 25 not out. Matthew Lewis took 3-12 for the hosts and Mike Shaw 2-12.
Cresselly hit 124-3 in reply, with Shaw reaching 26, Neal Williams 54 and Matthew Webb 29.
Nick Daley was in imperious form for Pembroke Dock after his brilliant 118 together with Craig Butland’s 81 not out laid the foundations for the home team’s 243-3 against Llanrhian seconds.
John Cumani then took 5-38 while Declan Scourfield and Connor Carroll took two wickets apiece to skittle the visitors for just 65 to record a 178 run win.
Hundleton’s start to the second half of the season in division four ended in defeat after an eight wicket loss at St Ishmaels’ seconds.
Hundleton scored 138-7 with Steve Williams scoring 64 not out. John Williams then took 2-22 in reply, but Tish eased home.
Narberth ensured a club double over Saundersfoot as both second teams faced each other with the visitors winning by 136 runs.
Narberth scored 248-8 thanks to Matthew John’s 54 (retired), while David Johns and Andrew Williams both struck 38. Kyle Williams hit 32 and Huw Simkins 28.
Matthew Johns then took 5-16 and Rob Webb 2-17 to dismiss Saundersfoot for 112, with Chris Parker scoring 38 after taking 3-54.
Defeat, too, for Kilgetty seconds after a four wicket loss at home to Pembroke seconds.
Kilgetty were all out for 117, with Matthew Lewis scoring 26, Stuart Allen 24 and Anthony Lewis 21.
For Pembroke, Chris Owen and Dai Pratt both took two wickets, while Nigel Phillips hit 58 and Jamie Kajaks 23.
Finally, in division five, Laugharne racked up the runs once agains against Cresselly hitting 263-8 thanks to Kevin pearce’s 157.
Cresselly were all out for 66 as Oliver Richards scored 35 not out. Earlier Damian Arthur took 4-41, while for Laugharne, Dwayne Reynolds took 4-10 ad James Ingleton 4-12.
Stackpole seconds remain second from bottom following a 104 run defeat at home to Llangwm seconds.
Llangwm scored 217-5, while Stackpole were dismissed for 113, despite Russell Roberts scoring 30 (and taking 3-4), while Theo Hughes scored 59.
There was no game between Whitland thirds and Pembroke Dock seconds, while Carew thirds had a bye.
