Another week and another century for Johnston’s Daniel Sutton who smashed 102 against Lawrenny, his third century of the season and third in four games, his other innings was a score of 80 in between!
Fortunately for the hosts, his innings, as brilliant as it was was in vain as the home side reached their target of 234 for the loss of seven wickets.
Ian Jenkins took four wickets for Lawrenny as Johnston reached 233-7, and in reply, Harry Thomas, Brad McDermott Jenkins and Phil Cole all passed 50 to seal the win.
Kilgetty will want to forget the weekend just gone as they were battered by Haverfordwest at the Racecourse.
Batting on a difficult pitch, they were all out for 41 with Ian Poole making 15 not out. The hosts then lost three wickets in passing the total.
Carew extended their lead at the top of the table with a six wicket win over Neyland.
Neyland batted first and scored 144-9 with Rhys Davies taking 3-41.
He was in the runs too making 50 in reply, together with Tim Hicks who hit 44.
Pembroke avoided defeat for just the second time time this season as they held out for a draw at St. Ishmaels.
The hosts batted first and scored 235-5 with Barry Evans taking four wickets.
In reply, Jack Harries hit 52, Andrew Hay 54 not out and Billy Wood 36 as the visitors lost seven wickets in the reply.
Cresselly were well-beaten at home against Whitland who hammered the home team bowlers for 258-5.
Will Spreadbury top scored with 85, while Wayne Howells hit 55 and took 3-44 in the Cresselly innings.
Paul Davies also stroke an elegant 48.
Matthew Davies was on form to take 4-29, together with Howells as Cresselly’s reply stuttered.
Adam Chandler hit 52, Simon Cole 24 and Scott Arthur 21, but wickets fell regularly to scupper any chances of a win.
In Division Two, Narberth’s batsmen were in aggressive mood as they declared just after 32 overs with the score on 266-6 against Haverfordwest seconds thanks to sparkling innings’ of 87 by Kyle Quartermaine and 84 by Aaron Keane.
In reply, Haverfordwest were all out for 120 as Lewis Hough took three wickets and Quartermaine four.
Carew seconds were well-beaten at Burton after the Rooks were dismissed for 120 in reply to the hosts 174-9, with Jacob Knox, Harry Cook and Joel Reed all taking two wickets.
Only Luke HIcks with 45 got to grips with the home team’s bowling as they fell down by 54 runs.
Llangwm are still flying high in the division following a huge 108 run win at Whitland seconds.
Llangwm scored 218-8 with Martin Thomas taking three wickets and Greg Sleep and Connor Bowen two apiece, yet when it was Whitand’s turn to bat, few batsmen could get going apart from Nathan Evans with 45.
Richard Cope was left stranded on 99 not out as Saundersfoot beat Llanrhian by three wickets.
The Cows batted first and scored 187-7 with the wickets shared between Tom Mansbridge, 2-42, John Mansbridge’s 3-42 and Sam Franklin’s 2-52.
In reply, Cope shone alongside Paul Mansbridge’s 31.
Meanwhile, Stackpole drew at Llechryd with the Lilies ending up on 178-9 in reply to the home team’s 238-5.
For Stackpole, Simon Bevan scored 45 and took 2-65 while Richard MacKay scored 56.
Cresselly seconds made light work of Llanrhian seconds at Llandegie Fawr as the hosts were all out for just 58 thanks to Matthew Lewis’ 5-29 and Lyn Richards’ 3-13.
In reply, Billy Kinnear hit 27 and Neale Williams 20 to lead the visitors home.
Lamphey recovered from being 7-4 in reply to Neyland seconds’ 136-9 to end up with 130-9 in a disappointing day for them.
Neyland were held in check thanks to Hayden Cole’s 4-9 and Andrew Skeels’ 3-40.
In reply, Gianluca Tremarco hit 32, Hywel Gibbs 29, James Skeels 23 and Tom Powell 20.
Lawrenny seconds won by eight wickets at Johnston seconds after the Tigers were all out for 134.
Adrian Harries took 4-29 for the visitors with Matthew Kidney taking 2-21.
In reply, Steve Campbell was unbeaten on 62, while Andrew Cole hit 53 not out.
Meanwhile at Herbrandston, Pembroke Dock hung on for a draw after finishing on 155-9 in reply to the home team’s 202-6.
Luke Murray took 2-46 and scored 35 for the visitors, while Simon Smith-Wrench struck 41 and John Davies 25.
In Division Four, Kilgetty seconds lost to Llechryd seconds despite having home advantage after Kilgetty posted 130-9. Llechryd passed it for the loss of four wickets.
For Kilgetty, Jack Tucker hit 28, Levi Hughes 21 not out and Anthony Lewis 20,
Narberth seconds had few issues in beating Hook seconds after Hook were all out for 108.
Llew Jones took 3-16 the ageless Nic Evans 3-22, while Richard Howell took 2-22 and scored 17 not out in the reply with Chris Spratt top scoring on 44.
Hundleton were dismissed for just 53 at home to Saundersfoot seconds as Kevin Sykes and Chris Parker shared six wickets.
In reply, Dan Caine scored 32 and Paul Morris 23.
Pembroke seconds were dismissed for next to nothing also hitting just 53 at home to St. Ishmael’s seconds who won by eight wickets.
Carew thirds scraped home at Stackpole seconds after losing six wickets in chasing the hosts’ 85 all out.
Chief wicket taker for the Rooks was Rhys Canton who snared 7-12 and score 19 in the reply alongside Asher Smith’s 22.
For Stackpole, Gethin Brown hit 40 and George Smith took 3-16.
Rhydian Rees smashed 84 not out and Tim Webb 66 not out to help Cresselly thirds beat Haverfordwest fourths by 10 wickets who scored 164-4.
Pembroke Dock seconds lost to Neyland thirds as the Dock were all out for 129 chasing Neyland’s 137 all out.
For the Dock, Bob Jeffries took 6-25, while Andrew Wood and Steve Alford took two each. Chris Boyett then scored 48, Jamie Hiatt 22 and James Olyott 24 as the hosts narrowly missed out.
Meanwhile at Llangwm, Whitland thirds lost to the home team’s seconds by eight wickets.
Whitland scored 124-9 but the home team had no worries in passing it.
