A Letter sent to the Head of Housing, Pembrokeshire County Council:

Following the tragic death of a young child in the Rochdale area, I am concerned that PCC might have similar problems with some of their properties. I have for many years received complaints from tenants suggesting their properties are suffering from damp and mould. I have referred these complaints to the appropriate department, and I have always been assured that in most cases the issue is not damp, but condensation due to a lack of ventilation. Given that mould can be caused by either damp of condensation. Is there any way that these concerns can be addressed either by letters to tenants outlining the importance of adequate ventilation, or an investigation carried out by an appropriate department when specific concerns are raised?

Since the recent publicity I am aware of increased concerns being expressed regarding the dangers to health of mould.

I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter.

Cllr Michael Williams, Harding Street, Tenby
