A planning application for change of use of land for 20 yurts, new facility building and ancillary works at land adjacent to Norchard Farm House, Redberth, has been approved.
Members of Pembrokeshire County Council's planning and rights of way committee had been recommended to turn down the application by Mr. Toby Rhys-Davies on the grounds that the 'proposed development was not well related to a settlement physically, visually or functionally and as such represents inappropriate development in the countryside'.
However, it was given the go-ahead by members at Tuesday's meeting.
Chairman of the committee, Clr. Miles Pepper, told the Observer afterwards: "We had a very warm round-the-table discussion. This is a relatively new way in tourism development and members felt the benefits outweighed the disbenefits."
