Work commences in three weeks time on a much-awaited new footpath in Narberth that will run from Southmead into Wesley Villas.
County Clr. Wynne Evans (seen above) said: "I am pleased that all issues have now been resolved so work can start.
"It is hoped that the entire work project will take around 18 days.
"The original plans have been amended to take in the views of householders, who have all been circulated with the plans of the work to be carried out. "
He continued: "The highway will decrease in width, and this therefore will hopefully slow down traffic approaching from the Crinow area.
"With raised kerbs and drop kerbs at householders' driveways, this will also make it easier for householders to exit their drives much more safely."
He added: "The bus bay in Station Road will be built 18 inches back towards the hedge, and during the period of construction will be closed, and used by contractors only.
"With resurfacing work to take place in the bus bay, overall this again will allow pedestrians a much safer walkway.
"Following this work, new footpaths will be built in the swimming pool area."
