A woman from Clynderwen, who was arrested after being found drunk and slumped on the steps of a pub in Haverfordwest, has been given a conditional discharge.
Twenty-one-year-old Heidi Elizabeth Davies, of Maes Y Bryn, Llandissilio, pleaded guilty to a charge of being drunk and incapable in a public place when she appeared before District Judge Manning-Davies at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Prosecutor David Weale said that the defendant was arrested by police after she had been spotted slumped on steps outside the Milford Arms in the Cartlett area of the town, at 1.40 pm, on Friday, October 19, and when she tried to stand up, she fell over again.
Her solicitor Matthew Greenish told the judge that his client had been going through a difficult time due to relationship problems and had turned to alcohol in times of stress.
Miss Davies, who had also been recently given a conditional discharge for possession of cannabis, the court heard, was now seeking help from drug and alcohol advisory service Prism.
"It's very disturbing and such a shame to hear of someone that young in such a drunken state at lunchtime. Hopefully the help you are seeking will get your life back on track," said Judge Manning-Davies, who gave the defendant a conditional discharge and ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
