First World War Centenary Exhibition: A great big thank you to all who attended the exhibition in the Whitland Memorial Hall. We hope that you had a chance to view, read and be touched by the stories told by the exhibits. One of the visitors said "this experience has brought the harsh reality of war back to life; it shows us why we commemorate them annually." This was a sentiment common to many people and we need to thank everyone who shared their thoughts, family stories, possessions, etc. to make it possible. Thanks are also extended to Ysgol Llys Hywel and Ysgol Dyffryn Taf pupils for the wonderful work they produced which made the exhibition extra special. Finally, the exhibition would not have been possible without the work from the excellent team of volunteers, who gave their time to set up, supervise, make cakes and teas and finally restore the Memorial Hall to its normal set-up in time for the next users on Monday evening. A very special thank you to them all.

Many people asked when there would be another exhibition, since there are many more local stories to be told in addition to the ones talked about this time. The answer is: watch this space! There will be different events organised as part of the centenary commemorations until 2018. So, stay in touch and let us know as soon as possible if you have any stories or ideas to share or would like to be involved. You can contact us on 01994240127 (leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as possible), email: info@whitlandmemorialhall or message Whitland Memorial Hall on facebook
