Whitland Male Voice Choir are currently on a short break over the month of August.
Before they took to their 'hols' however, they sang at two concerts.
The first was at the beginning of Whitland Week by kind invitation of the Whitland Week committee.
Present at the concert was Jimmy Morgan who was presented with the chain of office as president of the Whitland Week festivities.
Sharing a platform with the choir was a young lady from St. Clears, Ellen Ward, who delighted the audience with her harp playing.
The second concert, a week later, was as a conclusion to a very successful flower festival at St. Clears Church.
The choir were warmly welcomed by Rev. Brian Witt and the soloist for this concert was Mrs. Eva Rich from Saundersfoot.
Both concerts were directed by the MD of the choir, Juliet, and beautifully accompanied as always by Hefina.
Choristers are reminded that rehearsals begin again on September 3 at 7.30 pm in the Memorial Hall, Whitland.
The choir has a busy season ahead which includes a joint concert in Tenby with the Tenby, Pembroke and Haverfordwest Male Voice Choirs, a trip to Cornwall to join with a male choir from Marazion near Penzance, and an opportunity to sing at both the Eden Project in Cornwall and the Botanical Gardens of Wales within a few weeks of each other.
Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact the secretary Stan Phillips on 01994 240053 or attend a rehearsal. You can be assured of a big welcome.
