Sir,

I refer to ‘Ode to Saundersfoot Harbour Commission’ published in last week’s edition of the Tenby Observer in which the author has expressed views shared by many local residents.

Recently, Pembrokeshire County Council took the decision to proceed with the sale of the Barbeque Lawn to Saundersfoot Harbour Commission, even though they had received in excess of 600 letters of objection to its sale and subsequent change of use.

Following a public exhibition, hosted by Pembrokeshire County Council, of the proposed regeneration strategy for the area, the Harbour Commission, as stated on their own website, received 275 completed questionnaires in support of their plans.

It raises the question - at what point did the democratic process cease. The community has expressed their views both for and against, but clearly Pembrokeshire County Council has decided not to listen.

Mrs. Gillian Collins,

Saundersfoot.
