The Summer Reading Challenge is still running until the end of September.
If you’ve missed it so far, the Challenge is for children aged 4-12 to read six books of their own choice over the summer; register and get a starting pack and for each two books borrowed in a library visit there are stickers to be collected, and there’s a medal and a certificate when the Challenge is completed.
This year’s theme is Mischief Makers, to celebrate 80 years of The Beano, and we have had fun doing lots of Mischief-related activities during the summer.

The FutureShorts film event is back in Tenby on Thursday, September 27, at 7 pm; for only £5 you get an evening of thought-provoking short films from all over the world and the chance to vote for your favourite. Refreshments are provided and any donations are gratefully received.
On Saturday, September 29, we have the return of the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning combined with Tenby Library’s Massive Book Sale; proceeds from the coffee morning go to Macmillan Cancer Support and proceeds from the book sale go to Pembrokeshire Libraries book-buying fund, so you could enjoy yourself with a cake and a book at bargain prices and support two good causes.
On the same day we are also hosting an Arts Festival event: Yoriko Omae is holding a Japanese calligraphy workshop for children of all ages, telling Japanese folk stories and bringing costumes to try out. This event is free, but booking is essential.
