A team from Pembrokeshire has beaten competition from across Britain to win the national final of a reading competition.
The team of three, chaired by Daniel James, of South Pembs. YFC, with Hannah Watkins and Sara Edwards, both members of Eglwyswrw YFC, won the YFC junior reading competition held at Stafford on Saturday.
Among the teams they beat were Glamorgan YFC, the winner of the Welsh final, who had to settle for second place a full 10 points behind the winning team.
The Pembrokeshire team were coached by Edna Davies, YFC county junior reading trainer, who was at Stafford to see her team win.
"I am delighted they have done so well, it is the best I have seen them perform,' she said.
The book chosen for this year's competition was Eragon, a fantasy novel written by Christopher Paolini.
