As lockdown measures are lifted, caravan sites are soon expected to welcome visitors back to the county after months of closure.

One site has been particularly active during lockdown, despite being closed, and that is The Buttles Caravan Park in Begelly.

Whilst lockdown was in place, The Buttles Caravan Park have been busy supporting the Tinman Tuesday project via Tuk Tuk Time, and it is hoped that fellow caravan park owners will also support the project too.

So far, Tinman Tuesday has involved the local community donating tins, packet food and toiletries. The items have been collected from each home and passed to either Pembrokeshire Foodbank or the charity, PATCH, who ensure food and provisions find their way to those in need. There are many families suffering due to financial hardship as a result of Covid-19 and support is very much needed.

When caravan sites open to old and new clients alike it is hoped that other parks will join in the Tinman Tuesday Tourist project. This is an exert of the communication that The Buttles Caravan Park recently shared with their clients:

‘We’d like to ask for your help for when you arrive for your holiday with us. Please, if you can, we’d like you to arrive not only with a big smile, but also a few tins of food that will be added to the local community donations for the Tinman Tuesday project. We’ll leave a box or two outdoors by the entrance for your tins. Thanking you all in advance for your welcome gift to Pembrokeshire.’

The Buttles Caravan Park has received a very positive response to this request, with clients promising to arrive with both big smiles and lots of tins.
