Vision Arts Minis Summer Youth Project is well under way and the young performers had a special visitor on Tuesday when Stephen Thornton, Valero Pembroke’s manager of public affairs dropped in.

The children, from all over Pembrokeshire, and all aged between four and seven, are spending the week rehearsing and developing a musical theatre production of Jungle Book Kids. And thanks to generous support from Valero Pembroke, the whole week’s activities are entirely free of charge for the mini participants.

The children are all set to perform at two sell-out shows on Friday at the Cartlett premises of Vision Arts, Pembrokeshire’s newest hub for the performing arts.

Drew Baker, Vision Arts Creative Director said: “Vision Arts’ ethos is all about making the arts accessible for everyone - and thanks to Valero’s sponsorship of our Minis Summer Youth Project - finance was not a barrier to involvement in this great show. All the children are having an amazing time; learning a lot as well as having loads of fun.”

Said Valero spokesman Stephen Thornton: “We are delighted to sponsor this excellent programme that will enable children to build their confidence and enjoy the creative arts. It is great that a service like Vision Arts is offering these opportunities and we hope that the children will go on to achieve great success this summer and beyond.”

There are now no tickets available for either show, but if you wish to find out more about Vision Arts and its activities for children, visit www.visionartswales.com .
