Firefighters from Whitland and Carmarthen attended two separate accidents on the A40 on Monday evening.

The first occurred shortly before 5 pm on the westbound carriageway at the Meidrim turn-off towards Bancyfelin.

Two vehicles were involved and firefighters released one person using hydraulic cutting equipment, spreaders, cutters and small gear, as well as stabalising equipment.

The second accident occurred shortly after 6 pm near the showground.

Two vehicles were involved and the fire crews were involved in making them safe.
