Coming to the Queens Hall, Narberth this Friday evening are one of the biggest and most successful bands of the 1980s; it’s T’Pau! There are still a small number of tickets available for this one, but act fast!
They’ll be performing a spectacular acoustic set that will include huge hits like China In Your Hand, Heart and Soul and Valentine. Led by flame-haired singer Carol Decker, they rode the crest of a wave, also enjoying a quadruple platinum number one hit with their debut album, Bridge Of Spies.
After a brief hiatus, they reformed in 1998 and have been in high demand ever since. On their new Songs and Stories tour fans can look forward to hearing all of their biggest hits in acoustic fashion - as well as the stories behind them.
The tour coincides with the publication of Carol Decker’s autobiography, which will be published in January 2016. The story lifts the lid on the highlights and hang-ups of life in one of Britain’s most successful bands.
After the show there will be a chance to meet Carol, where she will be signing copies of books and CDs.
Fans can look forward to hearing music from throughout T’Pau’s career, including songs from their 2015 album, Pleasure and Pain as well as performing stripped back and intimate versions of classics that have stood the test of time.
In Carol’s words: “This is something completely new. The fans can look forward to hearing all of the classic hits. But we’ll also be telling them the stories behind the songs. It’s going to be an amazing tour.”
T’Pau will be supported by Welsh singer/songwriter John Adams and Michael Armstrong.
Adams wowed audiences on X Factor (2011) and has received rave reviews for his live performances ever since.
Armstrong will be performing songs from his eponymous debut album, which has already spurned two radio hits, ‘Allentown’ his cover of the Billy Joel classic, and his self-penned ‘The Radio Years’. The album has been causing quite a stir since its release and has led to recent appearances on national TV, national and international radio and to sell out shows across the UK supporting T’Pau.
This event is standing with limited seating. Tickets are cheaper in advance and can be purchased from Span Arts on span-arts.org.uk or from the Box Office on 01834 869323.
