After reaching the half way mark in her fitness challenge to raise money for the NHS, St. Florence fundraiser Victoria Walters has received a special message from front line health workers urging her to keep up the good work.
Victoria’s ‘Tors takes on Africa’ Facebook page - set up in 2018 after she was given the opportunity to visit Lesotho with the Hijinx Theatre Company to work with the communities of young people both with and without learning disabilities, has been updating followers on her progress to raise funds for inspirational health care workers, by walking a total 125km in 25 days, achieved by getting out for her daily exercise and on the treadmill.
After hitting the 15 day point over the weekend and clocking up 75km so far, Victoria received a special ‘thank you’ from NHS, after she doubled her original target of £250 by reaching £500 through her justgiving page.
“Thank you Victoria for choosing to support Hywel Dda Health Charities - good luck with the rest of your challenge!” was the message from the local health charity.
Victoria has been such a busy bee during lockdown, in between all the acting, walking and chatting with her Hijinx family on Zoom, she also managed to rehearse and learn a dance to commemorate the 75th anniversary VE Day celebrations!
