Tinman Tuesday Kilgetty And Surrounding Areas collections now include Christmas gifts and food items for PATCH and Pembrokeshire foodbank.

As Christmas draws closer, locals might want to support the charity appeals and Tinman Tuesday Kilgetty are offering to collect items from those who wish to donate in their local area.

Tinman Tuesday Kilgetty collections will continue for PATCH, including their Toy Appeal.

PATCH said: “We’d appreciate donations of baby toys 0-3 years, gifts for 10-17 year-olds, both genders, such as: Lego, purses, wallets and watches, home décor, water bottles and mugs, family or games for teens. Gift wrapping and bags are also useful. We have plenty of toiletries. Thanks to your generosity children across Pembrokeshire can have a lovely set of gifts to open on Christmas day.”

Sharron Hardwick, Tinman Tuesday Kilgetty, was chatting with John Whitby, member of Kilgetty and Begelly Community Council, and his wife Jane, who give generously to every Tinman appeal.

Jane said: “We want to support people, especially at Christmas. We work full-time and are first responders, so time is limited. Tinman Tuesday collections mean we can donate food items and gifts to people who are struggling at this time. This could happen to any one of us, and some of us might have experienced food shortages in the past, which makes us really appreciate things now. I feel passionate about this; it means so much that we can help.”

The Tinman Tuesday Team thank John and Jane and all of their regular donors and encourage others to support if they can. Special thanks are also expressed to all at Tuk Tuk Time who do an awesome job collecting donations.

Saundersfoot Connect are joining forces with Tin Man Tuesday to collect food for those in need at Christmas with their Festive Food Box Appeal.

We are looking for dry and tinned items such as: rice, pasta, biscuits, tinned veg, tinned fruit, toiletries, and anything a family might use which will not spoil. These boxes will be collected at drop-off points on December 9 and donated to PATCH and Pembrokeshire Foodbank for distribution. Locations to be confirmed at www.saundersfootconnect.co.uk and via Saundersfoot Connect Facebook group,” said Ladan Harper, Saundersfoot Connect.

“We hope that local generous gifts will make all the difference to people falling on difficult times this Christmas and bring some hope and cheer.”
