With Tenby campaigning to become a plastic-free town, one local businessman who is certainly doing his utmost to be environmentally-friendly is well-known local milkman Tim Evans.
Tim, who hails from St. Florence, took over the popular milk round five-and-a-half-years ago.
Supported by his wife Joanne and daughter Angharad, Tim has worked hard to build up the successful business, expanding both the goods he delivers and the area covered.
Glass bottles are making a huge comeback as the nation becomes evermore conscious of the environment and the devastating effects plastic is having on our marine life and beaches.
A supporter of the recently-launched Plastic-Free Tenby campaign, Tim delivers a range of milk in glass bottles - skimmed, semi-skimmed, full fat, organic and gold top, as well as fresh orange juice. Once used, the bottles can then be left outside for Tim to collect on his next delivery and return to the bottling plant for reuse.
In addition, he delivers fresh local eggs, butter and bread from Tenby’s Loafley Bakery in Upper Frog Street.
Bread orders will be made with the milk twice a week on Tuesday and Thursdays and customers can order either white sourdough, six-seeded soughdour or soda bread.
Doorstep deliveries are currently made to Tenby, Penally, New Hedges, Sandyhill, Pentlepoir, Lydstep, Manorbier, Jameston, Milton, Carew, Sageston and St. Florence, but with inquiries being received from other areas, further expansion is in the pipeline.
As well as the residential side of the business, Tim delivers fresh milk, cream, butter, eggs, cheese, yoghurt and bread to cafés, pubs, restaurants, hotels, caravan sites and bed and breakfasts in those areas too.
Business deliveries are made seven days a week in the main season and six days in the winter.
Tim, Joanne and Angharad would like to thank all their customers for their business so far and they look forward to making many more deliveries in years to come.
Anyone who would like to find out more information about switching from plastic to glass bottle deliveries or would like to discuss receiving deliveries is asked to contact Tim on 07876231642 or email [email protected]
