Oakwood Theme Park is once again set to stage the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile event next year.
And the attraction is encouraging people to make an early New Year’s resolution and enter the event now - and save up to 50 per cent off the cost of entry.
Reduced prices if you book in December are £3.50 for an adult, £1.50 for a child and £8.50 for a family.
The charity event, which takes place on Sunday, March 20, hopes to attract hundreds of competitors.
Oakwood’s unique course winds its way through the Pembrokeshire park’s famous rides. There will be three different distances for people to enter: one mile, three miles and six miles, with all monies raised going towards Sport Relief.
Competitors will be able to walk, run or skip their way around the course and the race also provides a special preview to the park before it reopens its doors to the public for the 2016 season.
Oakwood’s Clare Stansfield said: “This is always a very popular and well attended event, but we really want to get as close to our 500 people maximum as possible and we’re inviting anyone who’s thinking about taking part to sign up now.
“Everyone who enters in December will get 50 per cent off the normal entry fee and, even if you wait until January, you’ll still get a 25 per cent discount.
“As well as being great value for money, entering the race now means you have something to aim for in 2016 - and if you are feeling particularly generous you can even donate the savings you’ve made back to Sport Relief!” she added.
The event will be running from 9.30 am - 3 pm. Registration is from 9.30 am and the first wave will set off at 10.30 am. There will be free parking as well as a variety of refreshments available on the day.
Anyone interested in entering should visit www.sportrelief.com and search for the ‘Oakwood Mile’.
