Tenby’s town crier has used lockdown time to rediscover his artistic side by getting creative with some picturesque paintings.
Jim Cornwell has taken places he has visited such as the bay in Mont Saint-Michel in France and Marbella for inspiration, but admits that Tenby might next be on his list to spark more artistic creations to relieve any stay at home boredom setting in during lockdown.
“It’s been years since I took up artistic painting but my daughter sent a pack of paints and brushes when lockdown started, so I had no excuses!” he said.
“These are just some acrylic paintings I have completed during lockdown. The first is of Mont Saint-Michel in France - I walked across the whole bay with an escort some years ago; while the street scene is Marbella in Spain.
“I have thought about painting local scenes here in Tenby especially the boats sitting in the harbour car park - all repaired and beautifully painted but with nowhere to go!
“We have here in Tenby many talented artists, so my pictures are only meant to encourage and inspire people during lockdown to take up drawing and painting again, just for fun.
“I appreciate people might be getting a little desperate by now during the lockdown in Wales, but providing we all stay safe and well – that’s all that matters,” he added.
