Members of Tenby Youth Club were given a financial boost this week to redevelop their outdoor area after giving local town councillors a grilling!

Tenby Town Council donated £350 towards the purchase of a ‘summer house’ for the youth club, which is in the process of redeveloping its garden area so it can be a ‘safe, accessible and fun’ place for all young people that attend.

Ahead of the town council meeting on Tuesday night, youth club members conducted a Q and A session with councillors, asking questions such as ‘What are the future plans for Tenby?’ and ‘How are you investing for young people for the future?’.

The Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, told members that the town council was always there to listen to their ideas and support them with any ventures, and work with groups like themselves.

“Tourism is the main industry in Tenby, so we have to keep our standards up for the vitality of the town and work towards a prosperous future for Tenby’s youth,” she told club members.

It was mentioned by the Youth Club that they were looking for a town councillor to pair up with one of their members to be part of a ‘Great Council Bake-Off’ event being hosted in August by Milford Youth Council.

Clr. Laurence Blackhall offered to don his fanciest cooking apron for the event!
