Tenby Round Table are delighted to announce their new chairman and vice-chairman, confirmed at the charity organisation’s recent handover.

Matt Broadhurst has taken over from Joost Geertman as the new chairman, with Dan Cope stepping up to be vice-chairman.

The past 12 months has proved to be a busy and successful one for Tenby Round Table, which is made up of volunteers who give up their own time to help raise money for local causes and charities.

The focal point for the organisation has always been the Summer Spectaculars held in Tenby Harbour over the Sundays throughout the school holidays. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind and as a result the organisation was only able to host one spectacular last year. However, the event on August 7 was a huge success, with the donations given by those in attendance forming the core of the Round Table’s charity fund pool, helping them donate to worthwhile organisations such as - Heart Foundation, Tenby Fire Brigade, Wales Air Ambulance, Tenby Coast Crew Fund, Stroke Association and local sports teams among many others.

The Round Table’s fourth ‘Beer Festival’ held at the De Valence was the biggest and best hosted by the organisation to date, and with the support of many local businesses, Round Tablers were delighted to raise a total of £5,247 for the fantastic cancer charity Bloodwise.

Tenby Round Table are delighted to announce that the Beer Festival will be returning for its fifth year on the weekend of November 3 and 4.

Every year the Round Table has the honour of hosting the town’s ‘Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner’, with a free three-course meal, drinks and transportation to the De Valence all provided free of charge.

With over 200 people attending, thanks go out again to the fantastic master of ceremonies, Mr. Laurie Dale, and Matthew at The Qube Catering for organising and hosting the evening.

2016 was the first year that Round Table took over the running of the Santa Run from the Ladies’ Circle, and are delighted to announce that the event will return again this Christmas.

All proceeds raised at the event were donated to Tenby and Saundersfoot First Responders to provide them with essential life-saving equipment.

Tenby Round Table would like to thank the residents (and visitors) to Tenby for their continued support at their events; they can only continue their fundraising with the public’s generous support.

The Round Table is open for membership for men between 18 and 45 who want to improve their community and raise money to help those in need.

While the focus of Round Table is fundraising, there is a strong social element to membership, with monthly events organised throughout the year.

The organisation will be holding a membership evening on Saturday from 6 pm at the Sandbar, on Upper Frog Street - so why not pop along for a drink if you are free and learn more about the organisation.
