Tenby and District Branch of the Royal British Legion are pleased to announce that the sum collected for the 2019 poppy appeal amounted to £8,221.85.

In addition, the St. Mary’s church collection taken on Remembrance Sunday amounted to £320 and a donation of £50 was received from the monastic community of Caldey.

Tenby Branch are very grateful for these contributions to the poppy appeal and wishes to convey our thanks to all individuals, organizations, communities and schools in the district for their support.

It is regretted that poppy boxes and collecting tins were not delivered to all outlets, this being entirely due to an oversight by the RBL team from Swansea and entirely beyond the control of Tenby Branch.

Representations have been made to ensure that this is not repeated for the 2020 poppy appeal.

Finally, after five years of outstanding service as Poppy Appeal co-ordinator, Mrs. Ross Morris of Kilgetty – ably supported by husband Chris - has now relinquished the role and, at present, this voluntary post is vacant.

“Clearly, if we did have a Poppy Appeal co-ordinator then this would ensure that all outlets were properly serviced, so if anyone feels that they would like to undertake this greatly valued and worthwhile role please would they get in contact,” said Graham Phillips, Branch Secretary, who can be contacted on 01646 683332, and would be pleased to furnish further details.

“Again, thank you all for your support,” he added.
