In celebration of World Book Day today, three Tenby primary schools accepted an invitation from Tenby Bookshop to visit the shop in Tudor Square and receive several gifts for their respective libraries and playgrounds.

Pupils from Tenby Church in Wales VC Primary School, St Teilos Catholic Primary School and Ysgol Hafan Y Mor gathered at the Bookshop and were presented with two box sets of Roald Dahl books (which author has celebrated connections with the town), two balance bikes, and two bicycle helmets per school, by Bookshop manager Kat Blayney, who wanted to mark World Book Day with some educational and lasting gifts that would benefit the schools for years to come.

The children looked thrilled to bits, and each had a book of their choice from the shop to take home with them.

The Bookshop also gave their thanks to local families for their continued support of the independent high-street book and gift shop.

If the children are lucky enough to receive £1 World Book Day vouchers, they can redeem them at Tenby Bookshop where Kat and her staff will be happy to advise them on the latest releases and children’s best sellers.
