A young Tenby pupil has had a busy year in the lead up to standing for ‘Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire’ in the current Youth Parliament elections.

Thirteen-year-old Phoenix Collins, a Year 8 pupil at Greenhill School, is the chair of Tenby Youth Council, which holds weekly meetings as well as attending monthly Youth Assembly meetings in Haverfordwest.

Recent projects Phoenix (a former pupils at St Teilos School in Tenby)?has been involved in include:

Young Wales a Night of Participation at Cardiff Museum for young people active in the community; May Ball event between Youth Council and Gateway Club; Court Out where youngsters learnt about the court system; Collecting over 713 ‘Make Your Mark’ consultations (nearly a quarter of all collected for our region); a Youth Council ‘Bake Off’ at Milford Haven representing Tenby.

Phoenix has also undertaken Youth Parliament and Brexit training.

Voting for the Youth Parliment elections is open for 11 to 18 year olds, with voting registration to be completed by Friday (November 16) and voting closing on November 25.
