Angela Burns, Member of the Senedd for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, has welcomed the news that Tenby has been officially recognised as one of the best seaside resorts in the UK according to a survey undertaken by the consumer magazine Which?

The town which has long been recognised as one of the jewels in Wales’ crown remains a centre piece of the West Wales economy and is again open for business following the Covid 19 lockdown.

Commenting on the results of the survey, Angela said: “It will not come as any surprise to local people that Tenby has been named as one of the best seaside towns in the country.

“I am fortunate to represent one of the most beautiful parts of Wales and I am glad, during a period of time when foreign travel is more difficult, that the jewel in South Pembrokeshire crown has been recognised on a national stage.

“The Covid pandemic has hit our local economy hard, but I am glad that business and facilities are beginning to open up again, all be it under tight social distancing restrictions.

“The survey findings are a timely boost to a sector of the economy which greatly impacted by Covid and I believe that it will provide a much needed shot in the arm for businesses throughout the town and local area.

“I hope that this recognition will continue to promote Tenby and the wider west Wales area as a safe, welcoming and enjoyable destination for families,” she added.
